ah mines a big button and when click if i have two fingers it's a right click. I can also tap and the bottom area works as a normal left and right click button space too, it feels loose at times because of the design though.
    happy to help.

Hi! I have the same settings at the synaptics options, but when I uncheck the "Enable secondary corner click" box it turns the lower left zone of the trackpad off... Kind of good because there are no accidental right clicks but kind of bad because now there are accidental NO CLICKING! Hope that you can help me, I'm used to the Macbook configuration and would love to just have a big ass left click! (Lenovo Y510P Windows 8.1)

Yeah I had that problem at first too, but instead of disabling the click altogether I changed it to be the same as the primary click. If you look on the first page of this thread my solution is posted.

I too came from a MacBook and Windows 8 feels really funky.

Sorry if I'm just being blind, but I don't quite see the option for changing to be the primary click instead of the context menu.. In the picture you posted is says "Enable secondary corner click" but right next to that it says "clicking in the lower right corner opens the context menu" and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that... Again sorry for the trouble and thanks for your patience!

OK I got it working! For anyone who wants to do this but don't know how here are the instructions:

    1. Download the latest Synaptics drivers from their webpage: Drivers | Synaptics

    2. Uninstall your current driver.

    3. Follow the instructions on this web page to correctly install the new drivers (answer voted 2) : installation - Synaptics - Windows 8.1, updating Synaptics failed - Super User

    4. Open the Synaptics driver to set up your click pad, click "clicking" and then hit the gear icon for settings

    5. Set the corner of your click pad to do whatever you want (in my case since I'm used to Macs I selected Primary click). While your are in there check out the three fingers click, it's a cool way to open chrome really really fast.

    6.Hit close and then apply.

To the current or future Mac lovers turned windows users (for whatever reason) that want some things to stay the same.

    Cheers.

Same prob - solved for me (Sony Vaio)

I had the same problem with my Sony Vaio 13.

The problem was solved by going into the Synaptics settings > Tapping > untick 'Enable Tap Zones'

I unticked this button and - hey presto - all sorted. Now left click reliably and happily use two finger tap 100% reliably for right click action!

JP56 Yeah the Viao's have more intuitive setting control from what I understand.

Simondva glad you got it working.
