That would be why. Then again, who knows and maybe Microsoft will allow for the non standard profile locations...but that is wishful thinking.
I do get what you're saying but in my mind the folders are not the same as the "profile" . Maybe they are but I thought the profiles were hidden system files that contained pointers to those folders. It's been a while since I got that deep so maybe I'm confused.

I do have a lot of devices on my home network but my windows 7 PC which is on the same network loads the devices and printers menu almost instantly. If it were a device hanging up you would think that the Windows 7 PC would also be affected but it isn't. I will say that Windows 8.1 does identify a whole lot more devices that fall into the category of "multimedia devices" on the network than does windows 7.

I don't really have a good feeling as to how to go about troubleshooting this one?
I have the same problem. It takes 2 to 3 minutes to load. I have looked all over the internet for a solution to no avail. There was some information to set Bluetooth Support Service to Automatic load instead of manual that worked for some. It has not worked for me.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Many people are having the same problem.

Well I solved mine by doing the following:
    1) Allowed Bit defender 2015 to treat my network printers IP address as a "whitelist" zone.
    2) Re-enabled the Bluetooth Support Services which I disabled for security reasons.
    3) Boot back to Safe mode and back to normal. Someone suggested it.
    4) Deleted an old printer that was pointing to a none existing network (previous company printer). Printer was a Fuji Xerox DocuCentre....some model cant recall now since I've deleted it away in a hurry.

Seems like the (4) step finally solved the issue.
Step (1) was bcos I had to constantly enable and disable my firewall just to send a print job. so after step (1), printers appeared onlline immediately.

Finally I set the Bluetooth Support Service back to "manual" and stopped the service, displayed the Bluetooth Icon in my Notification Area.

Restarted the machine, Bluetooth was disabled by default and the Devices and Printers worked like a charm.
Both the network printers Im using now is a Lexmark in 2 serapate physical locations.

Worked for both my Windows 7 (laptop) and Windows 8(laptop) machines now.

    Thanks all.

Step 4 makes a lot of sense. I'm going to take a hard look at that. Thanks and glad you solved your situation.
