ASUS X550CA Win8 issues

It's either the fact my brain is running on fumes and needs recharging or I need sleep as it is 03:51. I backed up the notebook befor wiping the drive clean. But when I instslled Win8_x64_Pro its activating without me entering a licence key which isn't mine because it didn't ask at the start when it should have done. WTH did the licence key come from...? Its installed as Win8 Standard and not Pro which has really thrown me.

If the HDD has been complely wiped clean which it has. Then where did the licence key come from...? Why can't I enter my own licence key in...? Why has my install of Win8_Pro been installed as Win8 and not pro. I am a littles mystified.

As your ASUS came Pre-installed with Windows 8 Core, the product keys coded into the UEFI/BIOS firmware.

To upgrade Windows 8 core, you need to use the Pro Pack.

To upgrade to Pro Pack
No install files needed.
Only the Upgrade key is need.

I have the same laptop but want to upgrade to an SSD. Once I install the new hardware (it originally had a mechanical HDD), how will I activate my Windows once I reinstall (if the recovery disc even lets me)?
