I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 with a DVD RW drive listed as "HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GU70N" and I use Ashampoo Burning Studio 14. When I tried to burn a Video DVD after DVD authoring I get a warning saying "The inserted CD/DVD could not be detected". I tried other software too. They don't seem to detect the DVD too. Please help me with this issue.

Reset the drive. Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the drive and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the drive. This fixes a lot of flakey problems and any device Windows corruption. First step in resolving problems such as yours.

Thanks for the reply. I found out that my burner doesn't support HD DVD burning. I tried burning with a DVD+R and it worked.
