Android 4.x in Windows 8.1 - How?

So I gave up my Android Tablet which was stuck on Android 2.3 and got myself a Lenovo Lynx K3011W tablet with Windows 8.1 on it.

My initial idea was to install Virtualbox on it and then install Android-x86 within a VM. I've done this successfully on my Windows 8 laptop.

So, after installing Android-x86 from the ISO here (android-x86-4.0-RC2-s103t.iso), the VM boots and lets me do things. However, the touch is way off. If I tap in the center of the screen, the tap registers in the center of the VM. If I tap about an inch off center, the tap registers about 1 1/2 inches off center. 2 inches = 4ish VM inches and so on.

My questions here are: Has anybody done this before? Should I use a different ISO? Should I give up?

Even though I don't have any good information yet, I am replying so you know someone else is looking too.

I will be experimenting with this on a Dell Venue 8 Pro. So far, I have loaded Virtual Box and a Linux image (Suse). For that image the touch points seemed to be accurate. I may try an Android load this weekend, and will let you know if I have the same issues and/or stumble upon a resolution.

By the way. thanks for posting your question, as it alerted me to the possibility of running Android in a VM on a Windows tablet. :)

In looking at the site for Android x86 I notice the builds are for specific hardware, and I don't have the inclination to try building one for myself right now, but I did a quick look at the steps to build, and there is an option to include a module to calibrate the screen... it could be that the zip you downloaded may have that option, look around for something in the menus for calibration. I know back in the Palm days we had to occasionally calibrate the touch screen, and there may be differences between the module that you downloaded and your hardware.
