New computer broke after interrupting update

I got my new comp yesterday and it was working fine but during critical updates the power cord came unplugged and since then my computer won't work. When I press the power button it turns on for a second or two, then immediately turns off, then just continues doing this in an endless loop restart cycle. I cannot access bios and my monitor does not turn on during the few seconds that the computer has power. My power cord does not work in my current old desktop and the power cord from my old desktop does not work in my new pc..

is my computer broken, or is there a fix?
Might just ship it back Monday for a replacement.

I have tried inserting the windows 8 disc, but computer doesn't stay on long enough to do anything. I've also pressed f2, f8, f10, f12 all of those and nothing works or causes the computer to respond.

Sounds like something is glitched big time or you have a hardware failure.

There are ways to try a BIOS install using a USB drive in the old days. Not sure it is possible with UEFI systems though. Easiest, send it back.

A bit confused by this: " My power cord does not work in my current old desktop and the power cord from my old desktop does not work in my new pc.."

Do you have a known good power cord?

The power cord from my old desktop doesn't work in the new (broken) desktop and vice versa - putting the new (broken) pc's power cable into my old desktop does not power it on. The old PC is using a good power cord because the computer turns on and works just fine; it's what I'm using right and now I just bought a new PC to be able to game on.

I guess I will just return it and get a new (hopefully not broken) one sent to me.
