    disabled disk drive


    hii i accedently disabled my disk drive and i cant re-enable it again can anyone tell me how to do it please

    What happens when you right click the drive in the list , what options....the properties doesn't include 'Enable' , it's normally in the drop down list after right clicking.

    being your boot disk it has to stay enabled it looks fine to me whats it look like in disk management? also does it show its working properly in the properties window like below? also i can not disable my drives unless it is not the boot disk.

    Sorry about the delay in getting back to you , I just got back...I'm assuming your PC boots up fine?

    I'm almost tempted to tell you to uninstall the drive , boot from the recovery CD you made (you did make one didn't you?) and let windows re-install the drive for you , but I'm not 100% sure this will recover it for you.

    i did all of that but it doesn't work and when i try to insert any DVD or CD it doesn't show
    and i can't hear the sound of my CDROM all i want is how to enable this disk or change the windows i can't even Use a Flash Drive to Boot

    I'm confused your hard drive is what you think you disabled correct or is it your dvd drive? Your windows is boring fine correct and working?

    so your computer does not get past post? and just sits there saying it has no OS? and it will not read your cd's does your hdd show up in the bios?
