logitech quickcam communicate stx

i've tried to download drivers for my webcam logitech quickcam communicate stx here but whe i download the installer for vista it tells me about compatibility issues.

any way to get it working? (the mic works but cam doesn't)

try and find a program called AMCAP. THis should work with pretty well all USB webcams (even built in ones-- they are all usually USB).

This program USED to be free so there must be old copies on the web -- just search for it. The latest version seems to be a "paid for" product -- everybody is just getting SO GREEDY these days !!! but I'm sure you can find the Free version especially in your part of the world. !!!!!!

has the same trouble had to run it in windows compatibty mode xp service pack 3

nope, the compatibility mode did not help in this, cuse the problem was on my computer, not the software, but i could take a look at the AMCAP

EDIT: trange, no hardware, but skype finds it, but it crashes in 5 seconds...
