As the title says my aunt has an HP Printer. It's setup thru USB as it's not a Wireless. It was working fine for awhile however every so often it starts to print and then will just stop for no rhyme or reason. Deleted/Readded the printer to no evail. Anyone have any clue? I am stumped and the printer is less than a year old. Maybe upgrade her to 8.1?

Thoughts?

Thanks

At this point, I would not recommend that as a solution to try and fix your printing issue. I had an HP1020 printer that acted the same way as yours (on Win 8); however, I can't quite remember the fix but it was driver and/or re-installation related. So, is yours an older version like mine was? In any event, could you please provide the HP model number in question? Also, I assume you have done a proper uninstall/reinstall using the latest available drivers for your OS; correct?

OK, I sure did miss that in the title so I apologize for that; however, I usually focus on the body of the message but that should be no excuse for me missing that information.

OK, so, when it just stops printing, does it look like this view but with the green checkmark missing?

Also, are you getting any event logs that would indicate a print spooler error?

Can you show us these screenshots of your print management view?

Does it stop printing while part way through a page? Or does it simply not print any more pages?

Asking because I have an 8500 that will, every once in a while, refuse to load any more paper -- and it simply stops printing. I've found it to be more sensitive to paper types than older HP printers. Oddly enough, the cheaper, rougher paper tends to do better than more expensive, smoother paper.
