Solved Nuvoton CIR device not recognised after update to 8.1

Since a few years i'm the happy owner of an Asrock ION 330 HT PC. I use it for that purpose, Home Theatre PC. When i bought it, it came with Windows 7 installed, and a working IR remote control (Media Center green button type of remote).

I updated Windows 7 to Windows 8, with everything working fine. However, since the update to Windows 8.1, my IR Remote stopped working. Device-manager now describes it as an 'unknown device'. When I have device manager search for updated drivers it says :

'A driver was found for this device, but an error occured during installation.

Nuvoton W836x7HG CIR Device Driver

This action requires an interactive Windows-computer.'

Microsoft support redirects me to Asrock support for updated drivers. I'm hoping someone at eightforums can help me find a solution.

Solved

ASRock support helped me out. IR Remote working again with Windows 8.1.

ftp://europe.asrock.com/drivers/All/CIR/Nuvoton(v2.9.1007).zip
I am not sure if it is suitable, because this driver is actually for another model.
