    Hard drive help

    Hi all,

I got a new computer, and I have encountered something I have not before.

My C: drive is the smaller 149GB drive, and my D: Drive is my 2 TB drive.

How do I use the second drive for games and programs... I've never had to use a second drive before.

When you're downloading in a browser, it's default setting is the C: drive, to change the download destination, just check in the browser settings to change the destination or ask you every time where you wanted the download saved.

It seems it may be that Asus partitioned one drive into 2. I have read some stuff that said this can be helpful. Do you agree?

Also, just to clarify; can I install and run games from the D: drive? A lot of space is usually taken up by my games. Are there things that should not be done on the D: drive?

And one more - Can the D: drive be merged back into the C: Drive?

    Thank you!

My Samsung laptop did the same thing, upon taking it out of the box and turning it on for the first time I was asked if I wanted my drive partitioned like that and what size for each. I chose no and just selected just a single drive. However, I still have a D: drive which is hidden that contains the recovery partition.

    Yes.

Yes...but you'll need a 3rd party software to do that like Macrium, Acronis, Paragon, Aomei...although there are free versions of these programs. I'm not sure if the free versions will allow drives to merge or if you'll need the full/paid version to do that.
