Some software packages not seeing hard disk as local drive

Hi all, I have an ASUS vivotab smart running windows 8.1 pro with media centre. The tablet is running it well. One problem I am having is that some packages, such as the samsung smartview for windows 8 does not recognise the hard disk on the tablet or the 64gb sd card I have installed as a local drive.

Anyone know a work around or fix?

What does diskmgmt.msc say about the drive - does it report as a local drive there?

Yes it does show as a local drive I. Windows 8
