Microsoft office business on surface

Hi all,
My father in law just got a 64gb surface. Can he run microsoft office buiness edition for a PC on it? He has a copy of it already which is running on his laptop and has an additional licence he can use on another pc.

Any help will be greatly received and thanks.

If he has the Surface Pro then yes, if the RT then no.

If he has the Surface RT, it already come with the Office Home and Student 2013 edition. And when Windows 8.1 RT comes out (it's a free upgrade coming out soon), Office for RT will now also come with Outlook. The current Office on Surface RT does not come with Outlook.

If he has the Surface Pro, that machine does not come with Office so your father-in-law can use his Office license.

Yup. Like Strollin and Dirtyvu already posted. If your father-in-law has the Surface Pro he can install his Office Business Edition onto it.

Please remind the Surface Pro has no dvd drive. So you will have to use an external usb dvd drive or even better, use a standalone installation executable if you have one.
