Error getting properties of drives

Hi,

From yesterday I am facing a strange problem : I am getting a error whenever taking "Properties" of any drive. Right Click to any drive -> properties.

It's showing "The properties for this item are not available".

Please advise.

Did you do anything significant just before this happened (downloaded Win Updates, updated drivers, etc)?
Is your system running normally otherwise?
Have you tried running a full malware scan just to make sure you are clean?

Nope. Didn't do any significant. However, one of my friend inserted one USB HDD which was BitLocked and he wanted to unlock through my system.

As my Windows is not pro, he was not able to unlock. That's all.

Well, for Malware scanning : yes, I did. Nothing found. :(

Is it ALL drives (including your system drive) or just USB/external type drives (I know you said any but I need to confirm).

Yes, this is for all drives, including USB.

Yes, this is for all drives, including USB.

Is there any solution than re-installing windows or reset the settings?

Since it just happened recently, do you have a System Restore point available to try?

Oh, and could you also try and disable Kapersky AV for a test and reboot to see what happens?

Yes, I have, also, done the same. Settings and software stated are getting restored, but this problem.

Unfortunately, I (personally) cannot answer that question but it looks like something got corrupted and you fixed it with the new install. Anyway, problem gone, you found a way to fix it so good for you! Cheers!
