I am going to be buying a new SSD drive. I will need to install Windows 8 on it. I had AHCI already enabled in my BIOs since I had an SSD drive already installed with Windows 7. So this will be an upgrade with new drive and new OS. What I need to know is this. When installing Windows 8 what do I need to do prior to enabling AHCI? Is there a driver I need to install from a flash drive? It seems that I did something similar when I did my old install of Windows 7. I have a 880 Gigabyte board/AMD chipset. Thanks in advance for any help on this!

If it is new SSD it should be preformated so all you'll have to do is to install OS as per usual. Win7 and 8 will detect it properly and install drivers.

The OS will install the driver for your SSD drive itself. Just run the OS installation and follow on-screen instructions. Good luck
