Solved TV USB for win 8

I just bough my new laptop with win8 but not the os with MMC. I was looking to some sites for a usb tv tuner stick but some of the customer service emailed me back and said their product would not be compatible with win8. Does anybody know which usb tv tuner stick will work with the win8 os and the brand name. I am also new to this forum so i hope please i am asking this question properly and in the correct forum. Thank you very much for any help u can give me.

It may still work with 8, if it worked with 7. You may have to install the drivers for it manually. You have to find the EXE and use WinRAR to extract all the files out of it.

If it's an exe that opens a cab, it will extract the drivers to the temp folder before it installs them. You can set the compatibility to Windows 7 and run the installer, you may have to get into your temp file and set any EXEs it may have extracted to also run Windows 7.

In order to do all this, you have to halt the installation in mid flight. them find the installers in the temp folder and set the compatibility.

I was able to install an old Sony Vaiao MPEG board into a windows 8 system like this.

I also have an old TV card in this system, made for Windows 98 and 2000, but I rigged the drivers and got them installed.
