Hello , I've been scouting the internet a lot for answers ; unfortunately found none for Windows 8.Trust me , I really searched and tried solutions , but didn't work. This is the message I'm getting for EVERY new driver I try to install or , update old ones after unistalling :"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC . The system cannot find the file specified ". Snapshot_2013-08-26_151146.png I know the card is old but it worked before, (fresh Windows installation) , I get the same error if I try to update ex: the audio drivers.
This is how Device Manager Looks like:Snapshot_2013-08-26_151214.pngNormal, just ... I don't get it.
Tried both methods "Search automatically for updated driver software" / "Browse my computer for driver software".Nothing...
First I discovered the problem while updating Daemon tools ... Virtual Device wouldn't install.
I think I encountered the same problem in Windows 7 long time ago.Fixed it by deleting "infcache.1" in DriverStore, but Windows 8 doesn't have this file.
I keep the OS up to date.Antivirus : Kaspersky Pure 3.I really keep my pc clean and organized.
Do you have any suggestions?Beside re-installing Windows. Also tried SFC /SCANNOW, and the DISM command. Scannow found some errors once , fixed them.

Thank you.

Did you visit the vendor's website to get the driver there ?

I tried letting Windows install a driver & it installed an outdated driver.

The driver from the vendor was what I needed.

Of course I did.Nothing worked. Also tried with the integrated network card to uninstall the driver , then I tried to install it with the Install Shield, it didn't work anymore! My luck was I had a restore point!I am really sick of re-installing windows.SICK!Also time is a big issue for me ..My Windows simply refuses to install drivers.I DIDNT USE ANY piece of crap software on cleaning the registry.
