Solved Asus VivoTab doesn't shut down

I have an ASUS VivoTab that kept draining the battery. I noticed that after shutting down, I would open up the case or transleeve and discover it was on.

After determining that I hadn't accidentally left it on, I watched it after shutting down one evening and indeed about 2 minutes later, it turned itself back on.

I shut it down using the shutdown from the initial screen. That is, I did not use the Charms bar, select Settings and shut down. This appears to work.

Is this a wonky tablet? Related to Windows 8?

I'm wondering if any of the hardware on the VivoTab is set to 'allow this device to wake the computer'

go through your device manager and look for anything with the option toggled on.

This makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion. I may have turned something on when I was trying to keep my keyboard recognized by the computer.

i have the same system if it is the smart vivo one and I had to uncheck that option and i found it was doing the same thing as yours prior to the uncheck

It took forever to find it, but I did find one device with this option turned on and it was in the location you're displaying. I am testing it out now and will mark this complete if it fixes it.
