usb driver trouble

We just purchased a laptop with windows 8. We installed our existing Faro Gage CMM measuring tool and software that worked fine on XP. The latest USB driver (approved for windows 7) will not load. It almost loads all the way and then it rolls itself back to nothing. I tried to turn off driver signature but it still wont load the driver. Tried compatability mode with no luck. All the other software for the Faro Gage works fine.

What is it you're doing?are you trying to load drivers for the program through a USB port? USB ports don't need drivers It's just a way to connect peripherals and flash drives, etc. to your computer the files they need to work are on the operating system.
