Boot twice after fb off. RTC cannot handle fb shutdown. This will work.

no need to wait to morning for for test. set RTC timer 5 min ahead. one other option involved. all wake timers = yes (by default). my test results.

    fb on = 100% fail
    fb off = 100% work.

    Glad to hear.

Your optimism about potential fix is not evident. I guess because previous recommendation suggested carriage return and you got false positive via short test. Short test is a valid test. Same result long term. My last response. Good luck.

    Hi!

First of all, it did not work here.
And your reply is kinda hard for me to understand because as you might have figured out by now English is not my native language. I tried using Google translate but nah ... can you please explaine what you are trying to say to me once more in other words...

Hope you're not calling me gullible

I see from the Asus forum that you have installed the latest BIOS firmware, which I take is 1903 and which claims to have fixed the RTC problem, but which doesn't work for you.

Looking at the BIOS section in the manual, what does the setting APM Master Mode (found under Advanced/CPU Configuration) show? If it is anything other than Enabled, then set it as such. Now see if it works by setting the RTC clock settings a couple of minutes ahead of the current time. Note that when testing, you do not need to allow the machine to fully boot. If it turns on, then it is a successful test.

What is the range of numbers that you can enter in the drop-down box I mentioned in my earlier post? The only thing I can think of is to have a play around with these (although personally I think that the range would be 1-31 representing the actual date, with 0 being every day).

Having said that, there is quite a lot of posts on the Asus forums pertaining to RTC problems across a range of motherboards going back a number of years. I think that it is a longstanding problem that they are trying to address, but so far without any luck.

    Hi and thanks

I found a solution when i googled my problem, another mobo but the same problem.
He told the guy with the problem to uncheck the fastboot in Windows 8 settings.
And i've made 2 successfully timed startups now.

Hope it starts tomorrow at 9 AM.
