Any time you spill liquid on a laptop that is running, you risk major circuit damage (unless the keyboard area is sealed).

You would have to be able to clean out the area beneath the key to see if there's any damage.

If the keyboard has a circuit layer beneath it, and that got shorted out, you would have to replace that.

Removing laptop keyboards is not an easy thing to do, as there are often hidden screws and/or pins, and there is always risk of damaging the thin connecting ribbon cable.

The way that these problems are generally fixed is disassembling the laptop to remove the keyboard, if sticky substance was spilled, washing the keyboard in warm water, letting it dry for two days, and reassembling it.

Apart from that, there really isn't anything else you can do. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, you should see if there are any laptop repair places around that can do this for you -- but it's going to cost somewhat to have this done.
