Dell Latitude tablet dead? Battery died, now won't turn on

I am infuriated right now. I have had my Dell Latitude 10 for a few months now and it was perfect. I loved it. Went to turn it on today and got a message saying the battery was critically low and to press F1 to continue. I usually plug it in every night but somehow forgot last night. Well since Microsoft didn't bother to consider tablets don't have physical keyboards attached and Bluetooth ones are USELESS in this situation, that was impossible, so I shut it down and plugged in my charger, then turned it back on.

NOTHING.

The charger light and power light are on but the screen stays black and the tablet refuses to do anything. It's warm, so I know it's charging but it's a paperweight.

Do I chuck this thing into the trash now? I've tried everything, holding down the power and power and start buttons, etc. I don't have the model with the removable battery unfortunately so can't do a battery pull. I am so angry right now..I spent a lot of money on this thing!

Dell has a support forum, however, that should still be in Warranty and only Dell support can get any hardware problems corrected under warranty. If it is in warranty, contact Dell support.

If its out of warranty, consider seeking help on the Dell users forums: Support Forums - Dell Community

Dell support personnel doesn't know much.

This happened to me once. I don't know how I brought it back to life, but try different button combinations. First fully charge it.

Try pressing down and holding the volume up button and then pressing (or long pressing) power button. it should take you to diagnostics section. Run the diagnostics if you want, but it see if it powers on. You can always quit it (Diagnostics) as soon as it powers up.

This tablet is a pain in the ass. My touch screen is not working now. BTW, if you haven't already, if it boots of course, make recovery disc (or USB) using Backup and Recovery software.

BTW, for a quick contact, use @dellcares twitter handle.

The Dell India support can be a problem - language barrier for one, for US customers, since US English is not their primary language. The Dell Community forums are like this forum, users helping users, and can be much better. I worked the Dell user forums for over 10 years and we resolved a lot of problems from users that were "less than satisfied" with the Dell India support personnel. We were even able to get US based support personnel involved on chronic unresolved problems.
