Hdd drivers needed for OEM hdd WD10EZEX

I bought a 1 TB WD10EZEX OEM for storage with a SSD but the SSD died before it arrived.
The only problem I could imagine is the intel DG33FB mobo specs are 3.0 mbps while this one is 6.0 mbps. But I think it is backwards compatiable.

I installed new hdd and started installing 7 so that I could upgrade to 8 again.
Windows detects the new hardware and wants me to locate drivers for it.

I've been to WD for directions and drivers but it's not working out well today. - Refurbished: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

I am using that HD right now with a pretty old mobo. Win7 installed without any problem.

Looks like others are having a similar issue when attempting to install a new SATA drive on your specific motherboard. Their solution is/was to switch the HD from port 0 to port 1. See here:

1- After old hdd crashed and would not boot OS it got trashed.
2- I installed this hdd, exchanged cables & slots on mobo
    3- Proceeded to install 7
    a) click Install now b) does the usual Starting & MS Agreement c) click Custom & next window says
    Install Windows
Where do you want to install widows and no drive is showing
Beneath the option to Load Driver it states
No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation.

4- Two windows popup. a) The main one is to Select the driver to be installed.
    b) has checkmarked Hide drivers that are not compatible with hardware on this computer.

    c) the top one says Load Driver
To install the device driver needed to access your harddrive, insert the installation
media containing the driver files, and then click OK.
Note: The installation media can be a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.

    Advanced BIOS Drive Configuration shows
    ATA/IDE Mode <Native>
    Configure SATA as <IDE>
    S.M.A.R.T. <Enable>

    SATA Port 0 [Not Installed]
    SATA Port 1 [Not Installed]
    SATA Port 4 [Not Installed]
    SATA Port 5 [Not Installed]

    Hard Disk Pre-Delay [0]

I tried changing the IDE to AHCI then back because it did nothing.

Strange, win7 should have the drivers.

    Is that a reconditioned HD?

Here are the 64 bit drivers

Thanks for the drivers link but I'm starting to think it may be more involved.
I'm going to try it in another computer to see what happens. Just to rule out the PS & BIOS in one test.
    I'll be back.

Internal SATA 6.0 Gb/s drives are not detected by some motherboards

3.Install a third-party add-on card that is not using any of the affected Intel® chipsets listed above. At this time, WD is actively working on enhancements to the speed negotiation protocol to allow the use of 6.0 Gb/s WD hard drives to operate with the above Intel® Chipsets. I guess before anything else goes wrong, I'll be looking up info to test 2 power supplies. After hearing a story about an incedent a couple weeks ago while I wasn't around.
I've been using my main 1-person-computer on a 26" LCD TV with VGA and a guest computer on a 19" LCD flatscreen VGA.
Long story short, they disconnected at the TV and from the guest computer.
Then they plugged the live 19" LCD VGA into the TV VGA. It popped the circuit breaker instantly they said.
I had no idea until the circuit breaker popped like a dead-short n I tried hooking another computer to the TV .

I am following the link to change 6.0 -3.0

    Thank you for help.
Got the new hdd working by jumping pins 5&6 from 6.0 - 3.0 Gb/s

Couldn't find my multi-tester so there is no checking PS.
Turned out it could be bad receptacle or wiring because it doesn't take much to blow the circuit.
It's crazy! Someone has the bedroom ceiling fan/light and 3 wall receptacles wired into the bathroom GFI. So it doesn't trip a circuit breaker in the circuit box.
