Hi guys,
I have a P76 Sabertooth board with the following drives
3x 2TB
2x 3TB
I just bought a Silverstone EC05 and 2x 4TBs.
hooked everything up and now i have two problems....
1. Second drive is there but Can't format it. I make a simple volume but it keeps failing the format and staying RAW.
formatted it on my other rig and put it back into gaming rig and works fine but needed to format it again and same problem is happening again. Can't format it and stuck at RAW. I can avoid this by formatting on other rig but there has to be a reason? Any advice would be awesome
2. since putting the expansion card and 2 new drives my windows 8 is taking approx. 4-5 minutes to boot. not sure what is causing this but it is hanging at blue screen with the windows logo for a while then the loading ring appears.
any thoughts?
thanks

As to the problem with the drive not formatting I can't really help, had the same problem a while back, and did the same thing you did by formatting it in another rig then reinstalling in its present home.

As to the start up time it would appear that it has a great deal of work to do looking at all these huge drives you have. Plus you might take a look at your start up screen to see it you can disable some of the programs that are starting up when you do a start up (this can cause a slow down), however I think your real problem is with all the HDDs (huge) it has to read at start/restart of system.

The drive not formatting turned out to be a DOA sata cable lol and thanks Lee but I unplugged all my drives except my os and my 4tbs and its still slow so I'm going to system repair and if that doesn't help ill be formatting
