    Hi there.

I'd suggest you DON'T do this -- it's very rarely you would ever need a BIOS update - especially on more modern computers. Most of any new features could in fact be handled by SOFTWARE if necessary. If it goes awry your computer will just become a doorstop as it might not be able to boot again.

(Firmware updates on things like DVD players are another issue - but I'm assuming the OP is referring to computer MOBO's).

Even trying to get USB3 support on an older Mobo isn't really worth it -- you need a Pci-e card which is as slow as molasses compared with native USB3 anyway -- not worth it.

However if you really must -- most places that allow you to "flash" the BIOS will have instructions on how to prepare the various sets of bootable media.

If the site is still mentioning Floppy Disks then it's probably time to update your Mobo anyway.

    Cheers
    jimbo

    Thank's jimbo 45
However, now I'm carefree. Asus motherboard serial number is because I do not know so I can update the BIOS from the Asus site I found. Posted anywhere on the motherboard can not serial.

Why are you wanting to flash the BIOS?
This should only be done if the update addresses a specific problem you are having. It should not be done just because there is a newer version available. If the update fails, and this can happen even if you do everything right, you will have a very serious problem. One that most likely you will not be able to correct yourself.

Gives the message that the BIOS update .. If the next message is : CD -ROM Please insert the correct CD.
If I can fix my problem is to find the serial Asus motherboard . , But did not specify where the motherboard serial written .

Having some problem understanding what you're trying to do ...

I owned ASUS motherboard-based systems for years and did more BIOS flashes than I care to recall -- and I don't ever remember having to provide the serial number of the motherboard!

Don't know about today, but ASUS motherboards used to come with a utility known as EZ-flash (or something like that) which was invoked by pressing a special key combination on boot. You then got a menu, from which you could back off the current BIOS to diskette or USB stick, and upgrade to a new BIOS -- from a diskette or USB stick

Is this a laptop or desktop? If a laptop, what is the full model number? For a desktop, you should be able to find the motherboard ID somewhere on the board itself, usually (but not always) around the CPU/memory sockets. Don't worry about the floppy message - some older BIOSes still include basic floppy routines in their code even if they are installed in systems that don't even have floppy provision.

I looked everywhere but could not find motherboard serial numbers or letters indicating is that I find . Therefore should probably be able to travel to China to find motherboard serial ( joke ). These systems two years ago. ThanThank you all friends . now have to throw away the trash system .
