stupid drivermax caused difficulties with display driver

i installed latest driver for my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300/4500 series through driver max. version 13.101.0.0000 but after installing it my display driver changed to microsoft basic display driver and there is a warning on ATI Mobility in device manager saying that windows cannot identify this hardware, because it does not have a valid hardware identification number (code 9). i can't use my second screen settings anymore
i tried uninstalling or restoring from backup or using AMD catalyst. no solution worked. there isn't any restore point!
any help?

Have you tried cleaning out the all the display drivers using ATIs driver clean utility first? , there may be parts of the older drivers still left behind , even with a normal uninstall.

i tried this utility and drive sweeper by guru.
both successfully cleaned all apps and drivers. but when i restarted the pc amd still was in device manager list with warning which says windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43)
now when i try amd catalyst version 3-4 and 3-6 beta not even can't detect display but also can not detect and install driver for amd high def audio which has been cleared!
it just wants to install catalyst install manager!

i just booted ubuntu, there wasn't any problem with sound or graphic, it detected amd and started downloading drivers.
but windows doesn't even detect sound card after clearing driver which was working fine before! what should i do about that?!

I have an AMD 4290 and the Latest driver version that will install is 13.1. I don't think you will be able to install anything newer in Win8 and have that work.

Also, I was unable to install the AMD drivers using the standard AMD installer, instead, I had to use the option of updating the drivers through device manager and then selecting the W8_INF folder under C:\AMD\Support\13-1-legacy_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc\packages\drivers\Display\.

i managed to restore the system then used amd driver cleaner and restarted the pc at last i succeed to correct display driver.
but now the problem is with IDT audio driver. the driver were not there. i scanned and choosed to install from internet. it installed but with warning i tried old official driver from my hp 4520 vendor. installation said it isn't for this hardware! in device manager it said to restart i did and now says: Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
and when i choose to reinstall either online or my previous drivers and backups no one works!
