So, I'm a bit of an Android geek as well, and today I went to go update the firmware on my HTC. To do that, you have to use ADB while the bootloader is loaded.

Once I rebooted into the bootloader, Windows showed a pop up saying that the device had malfunctioned. I did a little searching, tried installing newer drivers (Could not be installed due to an error) and then stumbled upon an "answer" by Microsoft saying that it's a preview, so not all the functionality is there yet. Apparently that includes any ADB functionality for Android.

Just wanted to let everyone else know in case they want to jump up to 8.1.
