Does one need more protection on the tablet?

Ok so I decided to purchase the asus tabletwith windows 8. I will use WD for antivirus program but does it need Malwarebytes as an Antispyware program on it like my laptop does? I know I have to do all the window updates , I just do not want to use up all 20 gigs left since I want to install office pro 2013 on it
    it

    also

can someone explain how you right click on the tablet in desktop mode without using a mouse?
    thanks

A tablet is no different from a laptop, and the latter technically doesn't need an anti-spyware program either. For home PCs, the required level of protection is inversely proportional to the level of user skills. Hence, you should be the judge.

To right-click, press and hold your finger until the right-click menu appears. Depending on the touch driver, you may also be able to hold one finger and tap with another, which brings up the menu quicker.

I first part i disagree on sorta, if you are telling me it is just like a laptop or pc it does need antisypware protection in my opinion because one tends to do more on a tablet thinking it is like an "Ipad" that does not need protection

As for the rest thanks, I will try that for the right clicking. thanks

Not sure why you put everything is bold, so I'll just highlight the point I find interesting. I don't know what one thinks, and neither do you You said you decided to purchase a tablet. Do you think it's like an iPad that doesn't need protection?

Meanwhile, the recommended security settings for Windows haven't changed in years (unlike the set of security measures that comes with Windows). Open the Action Center and you'll see the list. It's the same for laptops and tablets.

does the asus come with a pen? you can use that to right-click as well.

if your anti-malware software doesn't interfere with Windows Defender, there's no harm in installing it. if things don't work or act strangely after installing the anti-malware, just remove it. Windows Defender also fights malware.

the asus only comes with a 20GB drive???

LOl because i first put it between the quote so you could see it, then I cut and pasted it in and did not realize it was still in bold, I just fixed it.

Yes, you do need to protect a Windows tablet PC as you would with a laptop PC. Just because the word "tablet" is involved DOES NOT mean it's like an ipad, that's what apple wants YOU to think. Windows Defender should be fine though, but whatever you have on your laptop can be used on such a tablet PC.

Now if this were Windows RT, not Windows 8 like on your laptop, then no, you would not need anything. Malware that runs on Windows for the past couple of decades literally cannot be processed on Windows RT because of the ARM processor's instruction set.

Just keep thinking of your tablet PC with Windows 8 as just if you took your laptop, slapped it down with a touchscreen, removed the keyboard, and called it a day. Or even, just if your laptop had a touchscreen. That is your tablet PC, but without the keyboard.
