Well, there are no drivers for optical drives other than the default built in Microsoft/Windows drivers. Must be some other issue. I speak a little (very little) German as I was stationed there in the US Air Force, but I still couldn't decipher what the problem is.

Hi there He wants the drivers -- Treiber is GER for Driver. However for standard optical drives W8 should really find these -- try with Windows update.

Who/What universal driver distributor is that?
All DVD readers/burners get generic drivers by default that work fine in Win8 as they did in Win XP - Vista - 7.
I guess there are always exceptions to this?
