Philips webcam SPC900 installed , but Skype cannot see it

    Philips webcam SPC900 installed , but Skype cannot see it


    Windows 8 Pro with Skype 6.3.0.107 - device manager shows no errors (webcam driver version 1.0.3.37), Skype can see the spc900nc integral mic but cannot see the webcam. Strange?

    PS: For the record the win 7 compatibility report says the webcam is compatible....................

    I'm have the exact same problem expect i have a microsoft webcam.
    But mine works on desktop and not metro app

    Windows 8 requires your permission to activate the camera..

    try this from Microsoft.

    Skype community was no help.
    No one replied to me.

    It wired. Skype can see my built in mic from webcam, but cant see camera

anyone had this problem? HP's support site for the specific model M6-1035 lists no driver for the webcam. it was there under windows 7 but I don't recall ever deliberately installing a driver for it - I assumed win7 had it. windows 8.1 does not. nothing in 'devices', nothing under device...

I'm looking or another app that can use webcam other than Skype. And was wondering if MSN is being combine with "The people" app and doesn't comes with a webcam or they didn't have an preview app for MSN yet?
