Solved Highlights instead of scrolls?

I've noticed that quite often when using my digitizer stylus to swipe thru an open document or to scroll up or down a web page that instead of scrolling it just highlights everything as though I want to copy something. I don't have this issue when using my finger. Is there a setting I'm missing?

windows 8 separates pen from finger. you can't use the finger to do handwriting (only for drawing/doodling apps). you can't use the pen to scroll. I think there are settings that you may be able to change but there's clear separation between pen functions and finger functions.

Bummer! I have the pen in my hand clicking on links so it is just a natural move to use it to swipe around.

yeah, when I'm holding the pen, I end up using the pinky finger to scroll or tap links.

I think they do it that way because how does the computer know you want to write something instead of scroll something? sometimes the pen has a button but man, I hated the pens with buttons because I would always press the button when I didn't want to or would have to press it where it wouldn't feel natural anymore.

Yeah this one has a button too and it will take some time to get used to it. But at least now I know what the problem is.

I am now noticing this highlighting issue quite often while using my finger instead of the stylus but it only happens while using the Chrome browser. It never happens with the default browser. I like Chrome because I can set the zoom to 110% where the default Browser goes from 100% to 125%! I wish the default browser would give better control than that. I think the default browser is IE10.


It looks like to solve my problem I am just using the IE from the desktop as it gives me the option to zoom to 110% and I have not noticed and highlighting of test on the pages "yet" when I use my finger to scroll up and down.
