I just purchased the LG 23ET83 touchscreen for my Windows 8 Desktop, and it works great as a monitor. The touchscreen capability works fine when it's functional, but I'm having a weird issue with it.
It seems like at random, more often when I launch a game or wake my computer from sleep, the touchscreen functionality stops working, a strange box with my cursor stuck in it appears on the left side of the screen, and a "ghosted" cursor appears if I use my mouse, moving between the actual cursor position and this area where it's "stuck" on the left side of the screen.
The ghosted cursor works normally, but it becomes invisible if I stop moving my mouse, and the touchscreen doesn't work at all while it's in this state. If I unplug the monitor from the USB port and plug it back in, it starts working perfectly again.
Why does it keep failing in this particular way, and why does it need to be reconnected frequently? My Surface Pro never has this issue with the touchscreen, although I'm not sure that's a good comparison.
