    clean install did nothing as well. looks like the audio chip failed. follow here vpc-z11 audio not working

    update: I found that the Audio chip is on the board. after getting a new one and swapping it. still does not work. can anyone help me figure out where the problem is?

    it was the ribbon cable. i replaced it and the audio started working again.
