How to disable "FN" keys on windows 8?

Hello,

I'm a new user to this forums. Anyways I've been having trouble since I got this laptop and basically my f1, f2 keys are like for screen brightness etc however if I press the FN key then it works how I want it to. Anyone have any idea on how I can disable the FN function key to work opposite? also how do I set hot keys? Please and thanks in advance.

You will need to make that change in your bios. Reboot your PC and you will need to press the key that gets you into the bios. For HP I think it's ESC

Hi I did that, however after disabling the action keys It automatically goes back to the normal settings but on the bios settings it says disabled, this is so annoying. I need help :(
