Annoying touch keyboard problem

I like to use the full keyboard layout on my tablet touch keyboard, but there is an annoying problem. As you can see in the attached screen print, all of the letters on the keyboard are top left aligned. This makes typing harder because you instinctively aim for the letters, and since they are so close to the adjacent letter you often make mistakes. I mean honestly, who thought of this? You can see they did it properly with the numbers but not the letters.

Is there a way to customize these keyboards or download custom ones?

how did you get that layout? is that a modified form of the on-screen keyboard?

To be honest, i cant figure out how i got that there. It wasnt there by default, i turned on a setting a while ago but now i cant find it.

If you could customize these touch keyboards that would be great, but i get the feeling developers can't touch them. Would be good to get a solid answer on this.

I prefer the full keyboard. The buttons may be smaller to fit everything in, but having all of the keys available for me personally is well worth it. I get frustrated with the lack of buttons (i.e the up and down arrow keys) and having to use the toggle button to switch to numbers and symbols on the standard keyboard.

You could turn that setting on in the immersive Control Panel, I believe under the General tab. Thank you toggle back-and-forth between that keyboard and the default one by clicking the icon on the keyboard in the lower right corner.

Sorry but I don't have any info on customizing the keyboard or adding new keyboards. Android has that feature built in by design. There is one new custom keyboard called TouchPal in the Windows store. It's similar to the Swype keyboard from the Android world. It's still rough on the edges, but it's the only keyboard replacement app that I'm aware of. At least Microsoft hasn't tighten things down as much as Apple has on the iPad, in that they're still allowing alternate keyboards. Personally I'd like to see a Swype keyboard on Windows 8, I'm not holding my breath, LOL!
