Solved Naughty mice

I have Win8, bought installed on a new laptop 3 months ago. I also have a Dell bluetooth mouse, and it was easy to set this up so that if it was off, the trackpad came into play, and if it was on, it gave me greater flexibility.

Now, Dell on or off, the trackpad doesn't work, and I am having to use a USB mouse. The system reports that the Dell is installed, but off-line. I have tried all sorts of settings, even re-installing the Dell, but no luck! Can anyone answer what is probably a silly question for me - how do I get things back to where they were?

try reinstalling the trackpad drivers or try looking in BIOS in case it somehow got disabled?

my laptop has a switch for the heatpad to disable or enable it. It is somewhere around the heatpad. If you do have it, you might have disabled it by accident.
If not, try a system restore to bring all the drivers back the way it was when your heatpad was still working.

And speaking of naughty mice...
