    Microsoft Kernal Debug Network Driver

While searching for Bluetooth connectivity, I discovered this newly installed program in Device Manager. What is this?

Google search seems to indicate it is W8 feature of unknown nature.

I have it too pappi! Apparently this is auto-installed if you have one of the NICs listed here:

Supported Ethernet NICs for Network Kernel Debugging in Windows 8

In my installation travels, I have uninstalled it without instance and I have left it installed without instance as well. Now, I still don't know exactly why its there but it is not an issue for me because it doesn't cause any problems. I'd just leave it alone.

    Cheers!

Aaah...I am sure it was not there on the first day. And then hours ago I updated Bios, synaptic touchpad and two other minor stuffs...all from HP and then this Kernel debugging driver just appeared in Device Manager. I hate looking at anything inside my system that has unknown nature...harmless or not.

In contrast, mine was there on the first day after one of my Win 8 installations and I simply deleted it (from device manager) and it never came back.

    Cheers and Kirk out!

You deleted something you did not know from Device manager? Hmmm...Instinctively I am not wont to deleting stuffs from registry and Device manager....and SWSetup. So....did you notice anything unusual after deletion?

No issues whatsoever, and I am confident that if I delete something from device manager that is "required", it will be rediscovered upon next boot. Also, I have confidence that I can deal with any consequences if necessary. I just gave you an FYI on my experience and based on your last response, I would just leave it alone.

Oh, and you also mentioned the registry too. Now that is a completely different situation and I would not delete anything from there specifically that I wasn't sure about.
