Mouse not working after waking up from stand-by

Hi,

When my brand new HP Pavillon G7 goes into sleep mode, and I wake it up again, the mouse (plugged in via a 4-part usb hub) doens't work anymore. Immediately after waking up I hear the hardware disconnect sound, which suggests windows kicks it out after restartup.

Any explanation? The keyboard plugged in at the left usb3 port keeps functioning normal though.

I can't plug in the hub at the other side because the cable is too short...

Hope I find some solution because right now I have to replug that cable in to get the thing working.

Thanks in advance!

For some reason the usb hub powering down after waking from sleep/hibernate mode. Just plug the mouse directly into one of the usb ports of the laptop.

I need the hub because otherwise I don't have USB ports left (printer and external hard drive are also connected via that hub)...

Hi folks,
Thought that seven and eight forums are somehow connected with a common user database. Just realized I am wrong, so hello everyone.

Back to the thread - I have the very same problem - mouse is not working after returning from sleep, but keyaboard works. If I remember properly, when I had my previous laptop that was also running Windows 8.1, everything was OK. I think it is hardware related issue, or something in BIOS settings. I tried to change everything that could possibly had influence on mouse behaviour, but nothing seems to solve the problem.

Dear author, did you solved your problem? Can you share with me with a solution?
