USB3 devices on powered USB2 Hubs

    Hi there
my observation on using a couple of USB3 small passport 2TB self powered disk drives when I connect then to a powered standard usb2 hub is that they perform FAR FASTER than external USB 2 disk drives --especially the self powered small pocket size one's.

So if you are buying external drives --even if you don't have USB3 ports on your machine it's still worth going for the USB 3 drives.

Hi there Has anybody found any USB3 cards yet that actually give anything like proper USB3 speed on a Mobo that didn't originally have any USB3 cards. Most of the stupid PCI-e cards have transfer speeds little better than decent USB2 devices. Comparing a decent USB3 external HDD transfer speed...
Anybody know of a beta-driver for USB3 and a Z77 Intel chipset? (on a MSI mobo) My USB3 is so sloow compared to same port in Windows 7. My daily backup of files, drawings and reports takes a LOT of time. This might be a windows 8 killer, if Intel and MS can't solve it.
Quite annoyed each time I get a USB hub it shows all kinds of pictures of general stuff that its intended to work for. They come with AC adapters in all. I connect something light like a thumb drive and something like a AC powered USB HDD and it results random disconnects, reconnects...makes my...
Hi there I've noticed that when I connect a USB2 external drive to a USB3 port it actually performs better than when even on a "Hi-Speed" USB2 port. -- transfer rate from USB2 to HDD is around 10 - 15 Mb/s faster than when on a USB2 port. I have two USB3 slots on my computer -- I have a Targus...
