USB drive issue

Has anyone had a problem with a USB drive constantly disappearing and not being recognized?
My current solution is to delete drivers in device manager then wait until they load again. This is a temporary solution. I am using a VivoTab ME400C tablet pc with full win8 in a public environment as a kiosk and users are exporting data via the usb. I cannot ask people to constantly delete drivers before they try an export to a pen drive. Has anyone encountered this issue and if so, are there any better solutions? Thanks in advance.

In many cases viruses on your PC will disable USB drives and/or internet.

Scan both the USB and your PC for malware/trojans/viruses (spybot search and destroy is awesome and free) v 1.62 (best)

Also look inside your USB stick, sometimes lint gets in there and causes intermittent connections, or fouled contacts.

Does it do it to all USB drives or just that one? Is it old? What brand is it? I had issues with EMTEC & PNY
