My Seagate GoFlex 500 isn't showing up in Windows. Disk Management sees it, but there's no feasible option there. It's not a blank drive, so I can't make a new simple volume, only delete it.

I have important data on there. What gives?

Hi there
If it's properly formatted and you can SEE it in disk management simply Right Mouse click on the disk and then choose assign (or change) drive Letter. Choose one from the drop down and after a few seconds the computer will recognize the device.

Sometimes especially if you switch drives between machines this happens -- it can be caused by the "Disk signature". There is a way of changing this -- I can't remember the link and I don't bother -- just assigning a volume letter is simple enough so that's what I do.

I'll give it a try, thanks. Right now I'm dealing with another hard drive issue.
