    Focusrite Saffire Pro 14

    Hi all

    Just after some advice.

I've installed the Saffire Pro 14 onto my Dell PC which has W8 running on it.

I have a mic plugged into the XLR and it records perfectly into the DAW and relays back via the monitor (headphones).

However I can't get any sound from programmes like iTunes, Media Player and Spotify.

Under manage audio devices the Saffire is set as default for playback and recording. I've also disabled other devices listed, BenQ monitor, NVDIA graphics card etc.

Am I right in thinking I should be able to hear sounds from the other devices?
Is it something to do with the Mix Control software?

Any advice or ideas gratefully received.

I have a home recording studio, using Sonar X2.

I used to have a Saffire Pro 40 recording interface and not all "PC audio" would play through it. I would have to use the PC's sound card and speakers for some audio, such as Internet and Goldwave (audio editor). The Saffire Pro 40 died and I replaced it with a Roland Octa-Capture and it works about the same way - not all "PC audio" plays through the Roland and my headphones or studio monitors.

Focusrite is there in the UK and their tech suport is helpful and may have some suggestions for you, to set the Saffire Pro 14 as the "PC Sound Card" (if possible).
