I am using Windows 8 64 bit on my new Sony vaio notebook E series SVE15127CB. Recently I checked that my Nokia e 71 mobile and blackberry 8520 are showing offline even after successful pairing. Several times I removed and paired but results wont change. I updated the driver and also installed Atheros newer version ending with 212, but no success. The devices are showing offline. I tried to transfer file still its not working. Also uninstalled the driver and re-installed them no success. You can say I tried EVERYTHING possible in 3 days. No success.

I think windows 8 has a BIG TIME Bluetooth compatibility issues. My last resort is to attempt a recovery. But I cant go for it as I have many application loaded on my note book (as I am into graphic designing stuff). It would be a complex for me to follow the procedure. If anyone can suggest something I have missed would be highly appreciable. Please help I have to upload picture from mobile to notebook on daily basis. Presently I am using cable. Thanks.

Hey, I found the solution to my problem posted above. Actually the culprit was Ccleaner. I had blocked the start up operation thru ccleaner and that was not allowing the Bluetooth to get connected.

Even if you don't have ccleaner installed you can check start up operation by opening the 'Search' from Charms and entering 'msconfig' and in the windows click on 'start up' and there see if 'BTtray' and 'btvStack' are running. They both are for Bluetooth connectivity.

Moreover, please note in windows 8 the paired devices (thru Bluetooth) show offline if there is no file transfer taking place. As soon as you start transferring the files it turns online automatically. A bit puzzling though but new things attract bugs :geek:
