Hi all

Got a Compro S350 satellite TV card and have Windows Media centre.

I boot my PC, start media centre, go onto live TV and it tells me no TV signal/device is found. I simply reboot and it works fine.

Not that hard to get around but annoying all the same.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Do you have the manufacturer's driver installed?

No I don't, I didn't with windows 7 either and it worked fine.

I've just turned my PC on and it's done it again, but I can copy exactly what it says :)

Trying to watch TV on media centre it simply displays

"No TV Signal
There is currently no TV Signal detected for this channel. The Channel may be temporarily off the air or yo may need to adjust or reconnect your TV Antenna"

Doesn't matter which TV channel I select, I get the same message.

Under Device Manage:
VideoMate TV SAA7133/35 Hybrid Capture Device

And if I click on its properties
General: This Device is working properly
Driver: Compro Tech 14/03/2011 1.3.9.1
Details: VideoMate TV SAA7133/35 Hybrid Capture Device
Event: Three events all timestamped 14th December when I installed Windows 8
Resources: Memory Range 00000000FBCFF0000 - 00000000FBCFF7FF, IRQ 0x00000011 (17), No Conflicts

I've tried closing media centre down and restarting it, I get the same thing.
If I simply restart the computer it will work 100% fine

I've just worked out how to fix it without restarting, if I restart the "Windows Media centre Receiver Service" (which said it was running before I restarted it) the TV works fine.

This is currently set to Manual

Weird how it does this most days on first boot but on a reboot is fine.

I'll try setting it to automatically start and see if that helps, wont be able to tell for a couple of days as some days it worked fine anyway.

Thanks

Setting it to automatic didn't work. Same problem. Simply restarting the service fixed the problem

So I've changed it to delayed start to see if that helps
