    Hi rvcjew

I have done that and when I run the eccmd -info command. It shows the cache read percent and write percent with values on both, so I think it's working now. What I did was install the ExpressCache driver and it created a partition on the ssd drive. However, other forums says that's neccesary to install the intel rapid start technology driver for the expresscache to work and so far I haven't been able to install such driver, the error says that my laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements or something like that. But windows boots fast now my only doubt or concern is why I can't install the intel driver if when I bought the laptop, it was installed!

the intel driver will only work for intel rapid start which you can use if your laptop supports raid and not just ahci it's basically super fast hibernation and wake up. it only will work for systems under raid though. and express cache is a separate thing so its not a part of it as long as it says you have info you are good how long from a cold boot does it take windows to start and what is your cpu? that being said you might want the RST drivers from intel Support for the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) not the rapid start ones since it is what controls your ahci combo your using atm if you don't have them windows will manage that but theirs are arguably better.

It takes like 10 seconds I think, sometimes it takes a little more and other times it takes less than 10 seconds, is that ok? Or what time should be the average?. I haven't installed the intel rapid storage, do I need to configure something or just download and install it?. And By CPU do you mean the processor?.. It's an intel i7 3rd generation

its most defiantly working then since if i disable mine i take about a full minute to boot up. you see the difference if you hibernate then wake it up since it will be normal hibernation, and slow. if you look at your bios you only have compatible and achi as your options for hdd support correct?

That's right AHCI and IDE, no RAID I guess that's why I can't install the rapid start

Ok then, thanks for your help! Just one more thing, to set up the storage technology do I just install the driver or I have to configure it?

you should just have to install the driver then in your system tray upon reboot you should have a rapid storage manager icon click it and you should be presented with this window and if it says its functioning normally with a green check mark then your all good.

    Hey rvcjew

I checked the link from Intel that you told me and I can't find the driver for AHCI, it only gives me RAID options. I downloaded it from the Asus website, installed it and I restarted but the intel rapid storage technology manager isn't there
