Wacom Digitizer not identified

I have a Samsung slate 7 and have just upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8. The digitizer pen while working in some aspects (ie. touch) it doesn't come up as an option to the virtual keyboard and doesn't open in MS Word 2010.

Samsung recommends upgrading the firmware to use Windows 8 -

Download and flash to the latest firmware version (08FW or higher) available

And I am not sure what you mean - "it doesn't come up as an option to the virtual keyboard"...are you saying when you tap on an open text box the virtual keyboard does not automatically open?

Office has its own way of dealing with digitizers. How is it not working in Office?
