OK, occasionally Microsoft and Apple have been known to have their, um..."differences?..." but Windows 7 did manage to communicate with my iPhone 4S quite well. I am now trying a pretty simple task in Windows 8, copying a jpeg from the "camera roll" on my iPhone to a W8 desktop folder.
All looks fine, when connected via USB the phone is recognized as a "Portable Device" in File Explorer, I can drill down to the folder with all my images, and preview and/or select any of them with no problem. From there, whenever I attempt to copy an image to my desktop the screen flashes black and then opens "back" to my desktop and File Explorer has closed.
Have any of you had better luck?
Philip
(I have not yet installed any Apple Software but this shouldn't really be necessary, should it?)
