How do you test a USB 3 HDD speed? I have a WD USB 3 2TB external HDD. After I upgraded to Win8 I found out My USB 3 PCIE card was not compatible. I bought and installed a new card. When I was transferring files to it, the graft or gage at the top of the screen said about 80 MB/s. The card and HDD both said speeds up to 5Gb/s. I never tested it in Win 7, but it seems a lot slower. The card didn't work long with the Windows drivers, it crashed. I downloaded the latest drivers from the manufactures web site. Now it works, but seems slow. I also upgraded the firmware in the HDD. Thanks for any suggestions.
