Synaptics touchpad drivers at startup

Am using windows 8 pro with the synaptics drivers on my sony vaio, but they are taking ages to load in whenever I reboot/startup my laptop.

I was wandering if there are any tweaks I can do to make it load into my system tray quicker. I dont have many things loading at startup so I cant see what the problem is.

I would like it to load in first rather than last.

Thanks.

Try uninstalling Scrybe add-on( from Programs in Control Panel) and see whether it helps.

Sorry, I shouldn't have assumed, sometimes older drivers work better than newer ones, try this version it works well for me, it might do for you as well, download version 15.0.24.0 from here: Download Compaq Mini CQ10-525DX Notebook Synaptics TouchPad Driver 15.0.24.0 for Win7 Driver for Windows 7 - Softpedia

Will these drivers allow me to use the windows 8 swipe shortcuts because none of the other synaptics drivers (even the latest ones from synaptics) will let me?

Thankyou.

What do you mean by windows 8 swipe? is it moving the cursor to get Charms bar? I have been using this driver and I have no problems with it.

I mean swiping from the right of the touchpad to make the charms bar appear without using the cursor, and swiping from the left to switch between apps, etc etc.

That will work, you can always adjust the settings of your choice for Scrolling, Tapping etc in Device setting.

I tried those drivers and still having the same outcome. They are the last thing to load into my system tray after what seems like a long delay. Also I cant get the swipe gestures to work with these drivers so have gone back to my other drivers.

Looks like I will just have to be more patient unless amyone can come up with another solution.

Was wandering if there is a way I can change the order they load in when I boot my machine?

Thanks for all your help anyway :)

Hi ordnas,
If you are still looking for a Synaptics driver, try this from HP, it is for the model HP 650 Notebook but works fine in my Aspire 5610z.

Similar problem here..

It took me 2h to download the 109mb Windows 8 Synpatic driver from their official site and it didn't even work!! lol
none of my old drivers seem to work either :(

How do you disable Scrybe? I just noticed it on the Taskbar Notification area...

Basically I just want to select a file with one finger and drag it with another.
Also the pinch zoom, the two finger scroll.

Hi there
Try an older version of the GENERIC synaptics driver --even a VISTA (X-64) one. I like the version that optionally throws up a screen at boot which allows me to DISABLE the wretched thing entirely if I want to.

Sometimes on some laptops I've found when using a bog standard mouse with the touchpad not disabled the cursor randomly jumps all over the place often making input nearly impossible. It's not a common fault -- you'll know if you have it and it's MEGA ANNOYING if you do experience the problem.

I hate touchpads anyway so even using a laptop in a Bar or somewhere like that I'll still use a small conventional wireless mouse.

Cheers
jimbo

You can uninstall Scrybe in Programs (Control Panel), try different drivers, get PB Easynote TE11 Synaptics driver from here:Support Download

k so I found Scrybe under apps in Metro Search..Right -clicked uninstall...opened up the desktop uninstall screen...but can't find scrybe in the list...would it be in the "turn windows features on and off"...

I played around with the "Pen and Touch" category in devices...and now the touch screen is kind of screwed up...it selects to the left of where I I touch...so anoying!!! I'm stuck to using a mouse now...and the pinch zoom still doesn't work...

I have a keyboard with trackpad...mouse ...and touch screen.....to many devices maybe? I need the keyboard connected cause the virtual one never pops up right in desktop mode...
