Help with my Vaio Duo 11

The problem is when Windows installed the driver for your mouse, it messed up the driver for the touchsreen. This is a common problem with Windows.

First, I would go in device manager and find the driver for the touchscreen.
It might even have a bang (exclamation) mark on it. It should be under
Mice but it can also be under Human Interface Devices. if the drivers are
severely messed up, it can show up under Other Devices.

I would right click and uninstall driver. If you get a message asking to delete
the driver say no. (or to keep the driver then say yes). Reboot the machine.

You also might want to run Windows Update and see if they show and updated
drivers for the touchscreen.

Finally, you can refer the the manuf website for the driver. Use the Windows 7
driver (if there is no Windows 8 driver). Download, install, reboot.

the issue solved!

Hi there,

I just had the same problem this morning and fortunately I solved the problem by myself :)
I need to share the solution to you all outthere, here you go:

- this morning I cant use touch screen on my duo, I just realize couple hours before I just connected a mouse on it (anyway, the touchscreen still working before with the mouse attached)
- I try to recovery to a couple days a go, its not work
- after several hours browsing at web, tried and error, finally I try the button 'Vaio Care' below the laptop (the red button just under your left hand) and click 'Vaio Software" then 'Vaio Update', you will see in 'manual installation' offering the new BIOS update (from Sony)
- click the BIOS update and run it (will change the nov2012 BIOS with jan2013 BIOS)
- one thing, you need to disable the antivirus since Microsoft think the .exe file from Sony is the virus
- after installation and restart (around 5 minutes)...voila! the touchscreen working again!!
- hope this will help you :)
